I am the educational outreach facilitator at GNS Science, New Zealand’s dedicated earth science research institute. My work at GNS involves interacting with schools, museums and community groups. As well as giving presentations to people of all ages, I lead field trips and geoscience workshops, producing videos and developing internet resources on Earth Science topics.
I participate in many field trips around New Zealand with scientists, visiting wilderness areas from glaciated peaks to volcanoes and fossil hunting sites.
I was involved with SBNZ particularly to assist with planning some of the field trips in the Taupo Volcanic Zone. It was a wonderful mix of science, education and intercultural connection in the powerful and beautiful environment of Rotorua
